Airlocked! Season 4 Observation Journal



This is where I will be recording thoughts, observations, and possible clues presented in the latest exhibition of deplorability known as "Airlocked!". If there is anything that InterGal7 or "Nina" let slip, I want us to catch it, not only for the sake of our friends and ourselves, but for all who continue to be ensnared by them for this incideous entertainment.

IF I AM FEELING IN ANY WAY DISTRESSED, I MUST PUT THIS JOURNAL DOWN IMMEDIATELY AND TAKE A BREAK FROM WATCHING. Jamie, Xander, Yurika, the Doctor, Thomasin, and Natsuhi, in that order, can provide hugs. From the new group, Queenie is the most likely to offer hugs if needed, and Junpei is probably the best person in the ship to talk to overall if I just need to talk. You can spar with Xander and Ardyn if you really need to hit something. Yurika will be there for you if you need to cry. Junpei and Togami can bounce theories around with you ONLY if you are feeling up to the task.


- There's already been a promotional trailer for the next season. The "gimmick" is a darned space prison. Apparently everyone they've pulled to be in there has killed before. As if that could dissuade me from wanting to free them; plenty of us still have blood on our hands.

- More people than the last two "seasons". At least twenty five. Some recognizable to those here.

- No Champion titles given. Only inmate numbers. Might be significant, given that a certain someone was given the year America declared independence as theirs. Aren't you all just so clever, InterGal7.

- Really committed to the prison aesthetic. Plain rooms, roommates are the norm - three cells outright have three people inside of them, it's tight, but no mixed gender sleeping arrangements. Mess Hall with provided food that probably sucks, there's a library...they have a LAUNDRY room...it's definitely going to feel like a bunch of fish are in a tiny bowl, perhaps they're hoping these close quarters will spark more death. At the very least, the group is quickly figuring out how hokey this "jail" really is. Doors that lock from the inside indeed.

- Memories wiped again. I truly feel bad for the people who claim they have never committed a crime...they just don't know. I hate having to watch people go through this all again...

- Their main Overseer is a man called Dr. Price, and though he has the title of "Counselor", I will not let myself be fooled. Called the jail a "minimum security prison for maximum security inmates", like it's...eugh. I am so very repulsed. I don't care if these people are murderers, this is disgusting. Putting "group therapy" sessions into place every other week. Claims he knows how he got to the prison, but not how the inmates have. Says there is a janitor and cook also on board, but just who they are is a mystery for now.

- "The Prince of Earth's Birthday is in a few weeks" - hadn't that...been on television when we all found each other at Sparby's? W-When did they start this? How long have they had these people?? Oh God...

- Dr. Price confirmed they are on a shuttle in motion. Finding them isn't going to be easy.

- The space lunch is apparently good and made from weird sweet potatoes. Well, heck, I'm game, I'd like to try it.

- The complex used to hold a lot more inmates. Now, it seems, the other spaces are being renovated. Most likely to become weird recreational spaces. Probably not of incredible enjoyment, though - my understanding of a prison is that there are more places for you to hone a craft or get an education for life on the outside. If they get a movie room, surely it will have documentaries? And there would probably be some sort of gym facility. Don't...let all the dead bodies turn up in there, please. PLEASE.

- A lot of Magic Discourse going on. I mean. I get it, truthfully, but if someone calls something magic and another calls it science or unexplained phenomena, then that should be it, right? Just because you've never seen it and don't understand it doesn't make it any less of a real thing. I never thought I'd feel that way, but...I do. I mean. The Lifey Thing could be considered magic, but it could also be considered science, and I'll just continue to call it the Lifey Thing, it's not anything to be mad about if people don't call it the same things I do. Gracious...

- The actual aliens on board are confused that there are only humans being kept on the ship. I'm a little curious too, honestly - they seem to be skewing more and more towards humanity with every grouping. Is there a specific reason for it?

- Something's happened. No murder at the end of the week, thank goodness, but that makes it akin to last "season". No, there's been...two collisions? The source of which has not yet been revealed.

FUCK

- Hostile takeover by Space Pirates. Possibly staged by the network, but no less dangerous. Captain looks EXACTLY like Guy Fieri, but a cyborg. Don't know if he's my world's Guy Fieri with a name change or some alternate universe version. Going to kick his ass either way. Price did not seem aware of what was going on - either a good actor or he's being thrown under the bus as well.

- Champion titles have been introduced. Most are relatively insulting. One is wildly inaccurate. Fieri is taunting them about someone not being what they seem - stirring dissent already, he's thirsty for blood. They're already getting things back from the Benefactors, but without dumbwaiters, the stuff is just piled in front of their doors.

-Motive is "kill someone before the end of the week or all your homes are destroyed". Fieri is still taunting this supposed outlier; "even with one of you being a deceitful monster and killing being your only means of escape" were the exact words. I'm getting flashbacks to when Bolton tried to pull that one on us, but...this guy's serious. He's got locations (don't know why only seven worlds?) and everything. Bolton was just slap-dashing something together to cover his and Jamie's behinds. All I can hope for is that...mm. Can I even hope for no one falling for it anymore? I don't know. I hope it doesn't turn into a blood bath.

- Shirou tried to rush Fieri for the motive. I don't blame him, even if it was foolish. Standing by and not doing something to help didn't seem like...it would ring true to him. Even if I didn't know him. God...this is the first proper punishment I've seen end in a death.

- Space Fight Club returns. Why do we always seem to end up wanting to beat each other up...Fieri went a round with Mister Akande and wiped the floor with him. Terrifying to watch.

- Alexander Hamilton presumably found...wherever trials are to take place. Under construction, too, which is strange. But he was killed for it right in front of everyone else, apparently on the grounds of tampering with the area. How is finding that room tampering? Fieri must be sore someone found it before he could unveil it.

- Mentioned putting the dead "with the other one". Another containment pod thing for the deceased, perhaps? To link them into the simulation? Have to check on them to be sure.

- First murder. Body found in the laundry room.

- They have "permission" to enter the trial room this time. Before, it was simply blocked off until it was needed. Also looks good, but not perfect - they had to make it from scratch. No holograms for pictures, just printed paper. This place really must have, at least, started out in the hands of the network as not suited for a trial per say, and they could get away with renovating other parts, but installing a trial room...something kept them from doing it then and there.

- Fieri allowed parting words for the culprit. Murdered by robotic dinosaur. Robots are his Thing; Dirk would be disgusted by that and the flagrant use of orange.

- Memories returned after a successful trial, just like all the other times. A new floor opened up - scary-big incinerator, a nice little arts and crafts room that I'd love to loot for Jamie, an Infirmary, and a kind of exercise yard. Ended up saving a lot of screencaps of the view of the stars from the outside; don't know if we can actually bust in if we get an idea of their coordinates, but...it got us close last time.

- There was a stuffed dog stabbed with a knife in the hallway? Why...???

- Food stores are noticeably low. I'm...actually kind of scared for them? What if Fieri is halting the supply lines? For the suite, obviously they had a steady supply of fine goods, and for us, it was all just a simulation...I hope things turn out okay. Somehow. Make it work, everyone. Please.

- Third week on Wednesday, already out of food. Oh God.

- Sabotages in effect.
* One in particular is a robot monkey named Matilda, which had been previously been kept in a box. Belongs to Fieri. Messing with her is apparently a death sentence.

- I did not need to know about any of the gross pictures going onto the fridge.

- Two deaths this time. Not that I feel particularly...it shouldn't be happening in the first place, that's all I'll say. Murder, I mean. But. That's obvious. And whoever did this...may have been keeping...blood. For a thing. I. Don't really want to think about someone actually keeping blood around, that's. Not. Not something I want to do.

- I can't believe they left this in, it must be considered - a stinger, or something. Fieri is targeting someone in order to get back at someone else who apparently took everything from him. All the people he cared about and everything he worked for. I can't feel sorry for him - I don't. I doubt anything will force me to. But this is something that needs to be considered, and...I don't know. I can't imagine who among those people might be the one connected to whoever he's got his sights of revenge set on.

- You know what I'm wondering about? Those executions. They're being projected from somewhere else, perhaps on the station, perhaps in Fieri's ship, but why frame them like this? Why...a room, like that? With the robotic constants?

- More memories. Miss...Cheryl? Or just Miss Hawthorne, she doodles Pokemon all the time but one of the post its she put on the fridge was taken away. I wonder why? It's not like there's a combined penis-tentacle Pokemon that she drew...

- Food is restocked. Another new floor - with a greenhouse. Are you kidding me. Also has one of those stereotypical license plate making thingamajigs, which I'm not sure how much a plate helps in space? And...two small rooms...they look like solitary confinement.

- It's not especially a lot of folks, but it feels like there are more people who are married or were married, or were going to marry, in this group. Or just have kids, too. I...wow. I really hope we can get them home to their familes. Please, I hope you've held out.

- Another motive. This one is...it has the potential for a terrible, gruesome result. Kill a number of people, get a number of them back in your life...and we know, here, that if Fieri is working with Nina, he very well has access to the technology. But I...if I was there, I'd question it. Honestly, his wording is so open to interpretation, what if you'd just end up with the people you brought back only to be dumped out into space?

- Nothing prohibited them from throwing a little costume party. I'm...glad they could do something approaching normal, even...even if it was on the eve of the coming of death, without fail. It'd be funny if it actually fell on Halloween.

- Oh my land what the FUCK did that robot give that poor girl. That looks like the most terrifying dessert I've ever seen.

- I shouldn't be surprised that, even in a murder prison, there are still people who find themselves in love.

- SWEET LORD WHAT THE FUCK

- Five deaths...FIVE people have been murdered for this fucking motive. I...I can't...

- "It" is a shapeshifter whose form changes whenever it dies. Can't say I know anything like that. How can anyone be sure that "It" is amongst the captives? There's always a chance Fieri's been lied to in order to get him to "hijack" the show.

- No new floors. Is this. Is it a pattern of things to come? Usually, once the floors run out, things...are escalating towards the end. But InterGal7 can't KNOW that's what's going to happen, can they? It...it has to be a coincidence, right?

- I don't know how I didn't realize that Jamie hadn't sat down and watched much of the show...at all, to have the same reaction I did on seeing Fieri-Blaze. Kip mentioned...something, I only half-heard it because I ran after Jamie, but...apparently...Blaze Dudely was an Overseer during Jamie, Bolton, and Max's "season". So no WONDER he's upset. I...I need to make sure he's okay. I need to keep Fieri away from him at all costs. I'll kill the man again myself, I don't...no one is ever going to hurt Jamie again if I can help it, especially not Robo Fieri. I'm going to talk to Ardyn and see if he'd be okay with keeping my old trident in his Armiger, just in case. He can even keep it if he needs to build up an arsenal. I just want to have it on standby and...ugh, I'm giving myself one of those CrockerCorp-tech headaches just thinking about it, this is a bad road to go down but I cannot let anyone else I care about be hurt by a frosted-tipped whacko obsessed with crazy food. Not again.

- He...let them live. The majority seemed to vote for Leon, who...while his direct actions led to death, he...did a remarkably heroic thing, and clearly suffered for it in his last moments, but he did it and succeeded. But Fieri didn't consider him the culprit. He considered Akande the culprit, for what he'd planned to do with all of that poison. He could have executed the lot of them for it, but something stopped him. Maybe it was the coughing, maybe...it was the fact that they knew Leon had saved them, but didn't feel that there was any right way to go, but something convinced him to draw back. I have a feeling, soon, we'll be finding out.

- He said..."It" did something to him, his crew, and the first group of Champions. So now, officially, they know they're not the only group of people who've been put through this, but...if there even IS an "It", could Jamie know what it is? Would he be able to tell me?

- CT was wearing her armor when...but, then, Varric found the same armor in her belongings, just. More cheaply made. What...

Akande Ogundimu Champion Warlord Tried to take his PIP off when he awoke. He's...well, I mean. He's a very large man. Intimidating. Fairly certain there's an exit, if there was an entrance that brought them there. Which is obvious, but also logical - and wishful thinking. Either they're going to burn the prison down or climb through a clown painting. Not to repeat myself, but easily the most intimidating person in this place, but he's interesting nonetheless. The food he wants most here is tilapia - but for the bones, which are apparently a moot point now. Respects people with fighting spirits. Starting up a Fight Club - yeesh, it's a darned tradition now. Are we all so eager to punch out our aggressions as a rule? And...where did he get the mats? Perhaps he told Fieri about his idea and he thought, great, sure, use these, but bring them back before Thursday night because then someone's going to die and I don't want them to have a soft impact on the floor. Damn, he definitely told Fieri about his plans, that was totally staged for him to try and get a feel for the strength Fieri has, and he got completely fucked up. His viewpoint is...not exactly wrong, at least, when we're all in this time and this universe. We're not anything, we're definitely not even "supposed" to be real people. But what we have is what we've forged in the present. What we have is each other. Alright, I cannot excuse what he's doing in this place. I. If he makes it out? He'll need to be watched. We need to actually...be a lot more careful of who knows what, who's in charge, because. Because crushing a man's knees and leaving him as fodder for a murderer is not okay. Not at all. We cannot begin to do this sort of thing to each other, we need to be united or nothing will be saved. Please let him live. Holy...I mean...dying like however he did, that's probably the only way to do it, but...God... As wrong as it is to feel this way about anyone...if that was truly what he was planning? He deserved every moment of suffering.

Sakunosuke Oda Champion Cabin Boy Keeping the most level head I have ever seen a man keep, and has experience in prison. Was up-front about murdering someone. I mean...I'm assuming they must have some kind of stupid "trivia" about their crimes on those PIPs, so why hide it? That's foolish. Fixated on finding curry powder. Getting a lot of mileage out of that "kidnapping will get you an excused school absence" thing. Is...part of the mafia or something, and shares a name with, apparently, a famous Japanese author. HE HAS FIVE CHILDREN that is a lot of children, how does he do it? Is he a single parent? He is down with sitting in a makeshift box jail if it makes people feel better, which is kind of hilarious. And possibly a meme? I think I saw something about box "jails" in the "ancient Earth memes" part of the internet. HE PUT HIMSELF INTO THE BOX JAIL AND DOESN'T MIND, THIS IS INCREDIBLE. The food he wants most here is curry powder. Tried going for a weapon in the takeover - he's got a lot of guts. Got his curry powder, likes it darned spicy. I bet him and Mister Margulis would get along. He must really have wanted to settle down back home, because he's fallen very easily into a Dad kind of roll for people here, Leon especially. And he still does it. Like it's second nature. I hope I get the chance to tell him...I don't know. That I approve? That he's doing a very good thing for the people he's been trapped with? But I know that, somehow, it's got to be true - and when he remembers how it can be true, he won't be happy. He likes to do domestic tasks! Oh fiddlesticks, that's...I like that. Very knowledgeable about swords. The food he wants most here is shrimp. Oh no he's. He's quite pretty with his shirt off. NOT THAT I WAS OBSERVING THAT ESPECIALLY HE JUST HAPPENED TO TAKE IT OFF TO EXERCISE. Does not tolerate people just...being slain in front of him. At all. John Champion Balladeer I'm not sure what to make of this man yet. Seems familiar with the supernatural, but far from a fan. Very keen on the United States, seems to have been a traveling musician and last remembers staying in the Appalacians, which I believe are out east. Aah, he's the religious type...hmm. And. Perhaps is from a time where it's still okay to call Native Americans "Indians". Alright, duly noted. The food he wants most here is cornbread. Overall, he seems like a kind man, not hateful. Leon Kuwata Champion Target One of the people from Togami's world who participated in the same killing game. Kind of...strange, but the normal kind? Mentioned that he got into that fancy best-people school for his baseball prowess, but wants to be a rock star. Was something stopping him from pursuing music before the killing game? Miss Fukawa knows what happened to him, though. I doubt he'll be remembering much that's happy. The food he wants most here is ramen. Already, all the incidental things have him so very paranoid. Getting very existential on things, but I don't think he's remembered what apparently happened to him, according to Togami and Miss Fukawa. Seems to pretend he's totally distanced himself from baseball but he keeps gravitating towards it. He's remembering that other killing game, and if he truly was the first culprit, there's not much else he's going to be remembering...I feel so badly for him. Please let him live. What?! But - no, he was - he was living, he was thriving, he...no!!! He did it to save the others. He's...incredibly admirable. I want to be able to tell him that myself.

Max Caulfield Champion of Arcadia Bay A normal girl if I ever saw one. But is possibly also a time traveler. What is wrong with multiple universes and traveling through time??? Supposed to be in high school for photography. I...didn't know high schools let you specialize in things. Aah, she's from Seattle! Another Washington-ite! The food she wants most here is bacon. Prefers cameras that have film to the digital kinds, but she's not turning her nose up at the one that she received...which apparently belonged to a friend of Noctis! It had Chocobos on it! Real ones! She really knows her stuff about photographs, a shame she's not the Champion Photographer. Hey...hold on, okay? This crap isn't easy, it's not, but you hold onto the people you have left and you keep moving forward. Okay? Can apparently time travel. Wish we had a Time player for her to talk to, I bet Dirk's teen bro had some knowhow on the subject, but we do have Junpei. Please let her live.

Look, I'm not a Time player. I can't relate to that sort of thing - but I can relate to been a kid, growing up,
with terrible choices all around you. I can relate to the Pacific Northwest. I can relate to wanting to do anything for your friends. So...let's get you out of there, huh? You need a long hug, and warm blankets, but thankfully it looks like you've got a lot of people offering you their shoulders to cry on.

Noctis Lucis Caelum Champion Narcoleptic Judging from Ardyn's reaction and their last names (the birth one for Ardyn, not any of his fifty new ones), Noctis is not only from the same world, but is an important distant relative. Like Ardyn, got screwed over by destiny, just on the side of the coin that people like. Still, it's not fair. Oh God, I don't think he...remembers anything from whatever happened to him. He definitely acts a lot younger than he looks. Kind of almost like a cat, really. Must be something in his posture. I see being snarky is a tradition passed through the Lucis Caelum line for literal generations. With a shower and a shave...golly, you really see the family resemblance. Especially in the bone structure. It's not terribly pronounced, but it's there. Likes fishing and joking around with people. Phones are not magic, that's ridiculous. The food he wants most here is...donburi bowls? What is a donburi? Fought a God - I mean, judging by Ardyn's story, it's not surprising. Had three friends he was traveling with, they all seem like good boys I could get behind. He got a suit with a brace for one of his legs from the Benefactors, and...does seem to favor the leg he put it on. Did something happen to him? Whatever he's first remembered, it...hurts him. He's beyond angry. I'm assuming Ardyn did it. No offense meant if you're reading this, Ardyn. Said he pushed his best friend off of a train? What??? Aaah. Ardyn killed his fiancee. Okay, I get it now. He's got a right to be angry, especially if Ardyn just kept escalating his shenanigans. At least he didn't purposfully experiment/genocide a whole planet and subject them to filling the plumbing with Faygo. Still...I mean. If they're both living and breathing now, after all of what they went through, they've got the right to see each other and...I don't know, slap each other around or something? I'm glad that they believed in him, in there. I...was holding my breath until it became painfully obvious that this was a really shitty frame-up job. Please let him live.

Whatever peace you and Ardyn come to is between the two of you. Afterwards, I'd like to get to know you, too. You're a good person, Noctis - very strong of heart, I think. That's quite admirable. And it seems you've collected your own Space Glaive, too. Funny how that works. Just...get the girls through this, they all seem to look to you. I guess you've also sort of become a big brother, huh?

Cheryl Hawthorne Champion Eggsellence Really seems like a sweet lady, like, an honestly sweet lady. Has Pokemon...which should not be an actual thing? Because fiction?? But for my own good I know that if I start doubting things now I'll trip over myself with everything else. I didn't even follow the games or anything but it was just EVERYwhere, of course I know what they are...this is so weird. I am incredibly hung up on this and I kind of feel bad that everyone else is giving her the third degree for not knowing what chickens are. Might have had a child before coming here - is that kid okay? Wants to decorate the cells and have it look a bit happier; would probably get along well with Yurika. The food she wants most here is berries. I...think she got a Pokemon back? But it's not a Pokemon I've ever seen. Then again, I haven't really kept up with the Poke-mania that swept the nineties and early 2000's, so maybe I'm just out of the loop. There's probably thousands of them in her world. Yes, her region is called "Unova", so I've never heard of it. Something...happened, she's not super forthright about it, but she had to take her sister's name identity? Her real name is Elaine. She has prosthetics from the knees down. The psychic things her Pokemon do are still really incredibly strange. She's so incredibly mom-like...I wouldn't trade the mom-figures I have for the world, but it's interesting to see someone do all the nice things my Dad would do for me. Please let her live. She - she had children to back to, that was no secret, what...why...FUCK...

Apollonia Vaar Champion Luminary Knight Brusque, but doesn't take anyone's crap. Calls herself the Black Knight. I'm assuming she comes from a world where knights are usually a thing, enough so to be an order, and that everyone lives in...kingdoms in the sky? To the point where it's weird to think a planet could exist...now I have heard everything, I must have. Surely nothing else at this point could surprise me. The food she wants most here is lamb. I don't blame her for not wanting to put up with Erika's everything. Oda received her armor and gave it to her, it's actually incredibly interesting. Intimidating, dark. I don't think anyone would guess there was a woman underneath, which I guess is the point, since her gender doesn't seem to bother her and it probably would just be a distraction in battle...because men. I hope she lives just so I can personally thank her for doing what many of us want to do and hitting Erika. She and CT don't really get along, but that doesn't mean she's automatically unpersonable. I think her and Pyrrha are...a thing. Please let her live. Fuck, why?? How could she - why?!?

Varric Tethras Champion of the Silver Tongue Very, very short and stocky, but well built and took right to writing and checking out the library, so he must be a well-educated man. Writes a lot, but is fond of his weapon, which he's named 'Bianca'. Writing out the profiles from the PIP display to keep up with changes and discrepancies. Sort of an odd fellow, brusque but grounded. Kind of miffed, I think, at his title compared to Alexander Hamilton's, but at least he's still something related to words? And not something offensive. Very upset by the replica...Bianca that was left to them by the Benefactors. She must be a crossbow of unparalleled importance to him. He makes it a point to be there for people, if they need someone, like...like he's used to being the support others need to keep going. But he's hurting. His memories aren't of happy times - there was someone named Hawke who was important to him, and she died. As we all find out that...people have died. Please, sir, don't let this be the last straw for you. He set up a banquet for everyone on a Thursday night...oh God, I hope it doesn't...end badly...it looks like he put so much care into it, just, let it be a nice thing, please. PLEASE. Please let him live.

He is incredibly against seeing her in person on account of her being incredibly stalker-ish towards him. It really makes me terribly curious as to what sort of girl she is, if she can put the fear of God into Byakuya Togami. Dear goodness, she's...definitely a wreck. Right off the bat. Almost as bad as Clarith seemed, maybe even worse? She right out screamed when she woke up and talk of that killing game from the past has her nerves going in all directions. And she seems very keen on books. Now I really have to know how she can scare Togami like she does. Oh, she's a writer - she's published! How interesting. I've never gone towards romance novels, but now I'm intrigued. She's probably Togami's age, so to be published so young...but he did say his school was only for the very best. Hmm, so that would make her the very best writer. Doesn't trust the food much, and that I understand, but please don't starve yourself out, hunger riots don't work in this sort of situation. Though, going in the complete opposite direction and eating a space yam raw is a little risky...I'm not sure if she's got guts or is just super fed up with killing games. Also...might be kind of...thirsty? In the "really likes pretty men" way. I don't think I've ever zoned out over a bowl of soup before, myself? The Benefactors gave her one of those Togami plushies...well, whatever helps motivate her to survive, I suppose. It makes her happy, which is kind of sweet. Despite her weirdness, to see her open up to people slowly and get...you know, praised? Like how normal people praise each other and treat each other nicely? It makes me want to get to know her, but I can't do the same thing I did with the others. That was dumb, jumping headfirst into, hey, let's be friends, because it's not going to work all the time, not with people like Touko. But I'd still like to know her better. Bless my soul, she tried making a cake! It...looks pretty? Don't know how it tastes. But that's. Oh my land. I love it when people try in earnest! Has she not been showering? Overall, you're...just a nice guy in a really awful circumstance. Your temper runs pretty short, and you're prone to clothes removal, but really, it's not as if these are rare things that few beings in multiple universes ever have. I can think of worse vices for a vampire.
