Also; I come from a star without this kind of technology, and with its' own language and terms. May I ask what lol means? I received it at the end of a heated conversation.

I'm guessing that whoever was on the other end of it wasn't taking it very seriously if they ended it with "lol". It's an abbreviation of the phrase "laughing out loud", and used as shorthand in text conversations to indicate that someone's laughing.

Well, no, this is exactly like him to do, apparently. Moreso now than before.
He and I are from the same world, you see, and good friends besides. I still consider him a friend. But...
Okay, this might take a lot of explaining but I will try to be consise, even if what I say sounds impossible or totally strange? So please bear with me, if you don't mind.

When I first came here, it was nearly six years ago. I was sixteen, and at a point in time where a lot of complicated and frustrating things were going on.
My friends and I were playing a game, and it wasn't really going well. Dirk you've, erm, met, and Jake you've seen, but there was Roxy as well, she's not here. Not in person OR as a brief ghostly visitor.
We were playing a game that involved being brought to a different sort of plane of reality entirely, and the point was to create a brand new universe.
In the course of that game, if you, erm...met certain requirements, you could become something called a God Tier.
Basically you get some nice pajamas, the ability to fly, and can't die unless it's under specific circumstances, as well as a special unique power based on your personality and sort of role in the game.
I could resurrect the dead, but only once per person, for example.
But uh, yeah, we got that...tier...thingie. And then right afterwards, for me at least, everything went absolutely wrong.
That all is a totally different story that needs so many more explanations, but the short of it is, if I left this place, I literally would have no life to return to, and it's no one's fault but my own.
But. Yeah.
Apparently in Dirk's version of events we were able to totally recover from all that, because he got to win the game with some other me and other versions of everyone else and become an adult in a new universe.
That's really all I know about what happened to him, but I know something more must be going on because he's become so...it's like he's leaned into the harsher aspects of himself and multiplied them, and convinced himself he's some great villain.
Not that there's anything he can do here in that regard, no one's got any power beyond the strength of our Pokemon - but I digress.
I know it makes him upset that he's here and not back home doing whatever it is he thinks he has to do, and I am pretty sure my acceptance of living a shockingly normal life isn't thrilling to him? But I hadn't expected he would be rude to someone who's new to this place, and I really am very sorry.
I am also sorry he subjected you to a fursona, that's an internet thing. It's like...a persona, an identity you make up for yourself, but distinctly animal-like. Ergo, this very strange dog portrait he sent you.

Ah, I feel like such a heel asking this, but, um, if you happen to know more about this "Ascian" thing that came up, would you mind telling me about it?
And this "primal" thing?
The first because I have met the man in question, since he's been here for some time, though I wouldn't say we were especially acquainted or friends. He...knows Dirk, and I know Dirk, so we know of each other, that sort of thing.
But I cannot for the life of me get a read on the man, and part of me wants to know more, mainly to...understand Dirk better.
We don't really touch the subject of the both of us being from different outcomes of the game, he gets...incredibly insufferable, as you've experienced firsthand. (Again I am so sorry!) And maybe there is part of me that's worried I won't like what I hear, if I already hated what happened to me personally.
Part of me wonders that, if I learn more about the people Dirk surrounds himself with, I could understand his mindset better. Behavior aside, he is still my friend. I can't not care about him.
But the second thing, the primals thing, I'd like to know about more for your sake? If you're dead set on...battling Dirk, I suppose, then you ought to know if there's a hard difference between these primals and our God Tiers. Again, not that anyone has such powers on their own in this world, but if you're keen to give him trouble and he's actively inviting you to do so, it's only fair you know what means what.
Geez, I don't like that I can believe he'd goad someone on like this...

And she will likely take a while to reply, not just. Because she has a lot to say! But because she is trying to comprehend it. ]
I know that I am no longer on my star, and thus I must keep an open mind to what may happen on other stars.
These Gods have no connection to what I thought they did, then. Still, it is concerning for one to seek followers. (I shall explain Primal alongside Ascian - they are two sides of something..)
I have also learned that there can be multiple versions of the same star. The change I have learned is less drastic, however, then one star surviving and one dying - in my case, it is a single person who is different.
The idea of recreating an entire universe, however, sounds quite improbable. I will not doubt it, but you know how it sounds. Such would change anybody - but one turning towards their darker self - I can imagine many reasons why. I am sorry that somebody you see as a friend has changed so much.
(That much I understand. But I still do not get why one would give it a different name. Is it a case of anominity?)
As for Ascian:
As I implied with him, I was part of an organization which fought threats to our way of life. Ascian tended to be the main source of such.
They are beings fueled by the desire to spread chaos and destruction, for a future we do not understand. (Except that they hate the Goddess of our star. Our star is protected by the Goddess Hydaelyn, who gifts certain people her blessing and the ability to understand many who often could not be.
I am one of those who Hydaelyn blessed - even if my abilities and blessing are lesser then some of my allies.) One way that Ascian can spread destruction and work towards the death of Hydaelyn is by the use of Primal. They teach the disenfranchised how to use their magic to summon who they see as their Gods. These Primal do not simply strike down their enemies - they enthrall those who have not been blessed by Hydaelyn.
These thralls have the desire to re-summon these Primal.
Primal, however, also drain the very lifeblood of the star. Unless they are slain, even one could leave our star drained. (While I have not seen it, I have heard of locations on our star which are drained of said lifeblood.)
I do not know Emet-Selch personally, but I know Ascian. I fear what he might know about me - the fact that I have become of-interest to one of the strongest (apparently) Ascian. Even if Dirk is not a Primal, anybody who works willingly with an Ascian is a danger.

Yeah, I know how it sounds. It's alright, and frankly, I never did understand the specifics behind it.
There were surely many more things in play than what we could see, anyway, and I'm willing to accept it as a thing I will never fully grasp. Which is hard enough to admit! But admit it I must.
(Maybe he was just feeling creative? I don't know.)
Oh, gosh, yes, we're not anything like those Primals! I'm sorry he gave you a fright about it. We just sort of fall into circumstances that give us these powers and then have to deal with the aftermath, and I can't say we coerced anyone through any means to follow us or summon us.
Maybe he knows something different about the situation, since his frame of events is so different from my own, but I promise that while we are here, we're as human and normal as anyone else. Most of the time. There are at least two weekends a year where people can get their powers back for a short time, but everything's so topsy turvy and muddled that I usually try to wait it out at home instead of getting into sticky situations.
Hm...when you put it like that, then I can't really blame you for feeling the way you do - not that I would, per say. He clearly invited you to challenge him, so obviously he wants your reaction to him to be negative? (Which, again, is baffling to me in a lot of ways, yet completely makes sense in others.) I don't know if Mister Emet-Selch's presence in his life contributes to that or not, since he was confrontational about this sort of thing even before he seemed to begin associating with the man. But I am appreciative of all this information, thank you!
[Note to self, don't mention to Minfilia that you've willingly made soup for this man when he came back from a canon update and had the flu because Dirk is woefully inept at caring for another human being. He tries, he's got the spirit, but. He just. Does not know. Has no bedside manner.]
Minfilia, out of curiosity, I must ask - are there people in this world whom you know from your own?
Maybe they might have more information on the Ascian presence here than I can give you. They'd be more familiar with the threat posed, right? And it's possible they could come from a time in your future, and know things you wouldn't be able to know!
In this case, the more information you have, the better.
