Hello! You've reached Jane Crocker. Sorry I couldn't pick up at the moment, but if you could please leave your name, number, and a brief message, I'll get back to you as soon as possible!

Dear Dimitri,
From the way you speak of it, I did imagine Faerghus to be more of a rougher sort of place when it comes to plants and the like. Maybe something more like Alaska - long winters, sturdy vegitation, and animals who can thrive in the cold. That's all I really know about it, despite growing up about two days' drive south, if you travel all the way through the night. Which, well, I wouldn't. That would be exhausting. But that's not really someplace to worry about here. Maybe the closest equivalent to where you're from is Blackthorn City? That takes some time to get to, and it's rather mountainous and cold. Especially cold.
Oh...that is actually a legitimate concern. His past is not my story to tell, as I have mentioned, but it definitely did not allow for certain social niceties to flourish. And I do feel I ought to explain everything, it's just so, so very complicated. It is complicated to the point where even I do not understand everything that happened. But in some respects I can explain it in ways that I have learned to cope with the information, and that might be easier to digest than saying things as they happened. Sometimes you need to look at things through a different lens to understand them, after all.
I did see Grant on the Network, and he did mention that your group was in need of vaccines. If I had thought of it (and not been indisposed) I would have insisted you all get that taken care of while you were here, but you can't change the past once it's past. Proper pharmacies for humans should be able to set you all up relatively easily, but I think you have to get shots in a certain order? I...don't actually know for sure, my Dad used to bring me to the doctor to get it all done when it had to be done.
Darn. I'll have to get myself checked out to see if I'm missing anything.
Best Wishes,
Jane Crocker

[And so does Dimitri, in his letter.]
Dear Jane,
Alaska sounds very much like Faerghus, with the inclusion that we have particularly impressive mountain spaces, especially along some of our borders. Despite all of its difficulties, it is still a place where life can thrive. Our pegasi population is one example. I have had the pleasure of looking at a couple of different breeds, and those from Faerghus tend to have a much thicker coat compared to those from further down south. A friend of mine, Ingrid Galatea, is a pegasus rider, and I have heard her say that it would be interesting to see pegasi from countries beyond those in Fodlan. Surely they would be even more striking in their differences.
Blackthorn City sounds like a fascinating place to be, but unfortunately it does seem as though it will be among the last stops in our journey through Johto if I am understanding the traditional gym path correctly. Perhaps that will work out in our favor, however. As people used to colder climates, I am unsure of how my friends and I will deal with this country's warmer months. A cooler city may be exactly what we need.
It sounds as though finding a way to explain your past experiences may be something that helps you as much as it helps anyone else. May I suggest perhaps making a journal of some sort? You can approach things at your pace, and perhaps tackle individual events before connecting them to the larger whole.
I have made sure to inquire with the nurses of this place, and we will certainly be doing them all in proper order while we are here in Ecruteak. This may mean staying here for a while longer, which I am sure will frustrate Chip. They rather like speeding off, to the point that they often challenge gyms the moment we arrive. It must be nice to have the energy and drive of a child.
Oh, an interesting development has occurred in the time between our letters. Considering how peaceful and plentiful this land is, it is not a surprise to find that the arts are so much more accessible here. Because of that, I have managed to find some additional employment acting as a model for beginner artists so that they better understand the human body. It is somewhat embarrassing, but it is interesting to see artists slowly improve themselves. It reminds me of a man I once knew, and I am certain that he would find this place interesting in more ways than one.
Please make sure that you remain fully healthy,

Dear Dimitri,
I'm sure Grant would be willing to help you guys get clothes for warmer weather! Why, I do believe I have seen you wear some interesting tshirts when you were visiting that would be quite servicable as summer creeps in. But if those are still too warm, you can try sleeveless tops. And shorts!
[Oh lordy when these boys learn about shorts.]
Hm, I do think I understand Chip's enthusiasm - they want to be the best, like no one ever was, yes? It might help them to think of the time they spend in town that doesn't involve gym battles as a sort of mini-adventure before moving on. They can do things that would help their team get stronger, and perhaps find new companions as well. I would say to explore the Burned Tower with them, but...I feel like you all might have reservations about sending a kid in there, supervised or not. While I can vouch that it is perfectly safe to venture in, some of those floorboards do not inspire confidence when you look at them.
My goodness! I've only actually heard of art models in stories...hopefully all the people in the class are being very respectful.
You better stay healthy too!

[Dimitri's letter may provide some insight there.]
Dear Jane,
I apologize for this belated letter. This past holiday kept me busy. We have also lost one of our traveling party who meant a great deal to me. I understand that you only had a short while to meet Dedue, and I regret that we did not stay longer so that you both could become proper friends.
In regards to your last letter, we will see if the clothes I have now will be serviceable. Chip seems as though they will have to wait whether they like it or not with the sickness spreading. The modeling classes have been short, and everyone polite.
I apologize for the length of this letter.
Wishing you well,
Dimitri Alexandre Blaiddyd

Oh...oh no, Dedue...he was a very nice gentleman, oh no. She doesn't have time to add a postcard this time and her handwriting is a touch sloppier than usual, if only so Elshot can bring a message back ASAP.]
Dear Dimitri,
I am so sorry to hear that Mister Dedue has left. It is my hope that he returns in the future - I would have liked to get to know him better.
Sorry this one is short in return - I don't want Elshot kept from you any longer than he needs to be.
Stay safe,
Jane Crocker
